The mayor has returned with another public address for the people to hear. Wiki teams up with his long time partner in crime, Tony Seltzer, to drop an underrated gem that adds another notch in the belts of both talents. 14k Figaro is the newest addition to their respective lists, growing the pair to the point that some serious conversations may need to be had soon.

standout tracks: Numb, That Aint Pat, Fried Ice Cream, Purity

I've been an avid Wiki fan since the Ratking days (R.I.P.), so when it comes down to it, I'm very familiar with his game. From his first solo project, Lil Me, I could tell I was witnessing a future great. To me, Wiki embodies the heart and soul of New York City better that almost anybody out there right now. His down to earth persona is on constant display, and consistently bordered by a ruthless aggression delivered so slick you don't know whether to bang your head or burn a spliff, so you might as well do both. Take for example the second single That Aint Pat, the upbeat tempo carries the soulful sample up to a hyper pace. What would typically be a laid back vibe gets turned to the max with some effortlessly punchy bars from Wik that duck and weave through the beat before driving the hardest lines right into your skull.

One of my favorite things about Wiki is his willingness to experiment. He plays around with a lot of different styles on this project in particular, like the thumping kicks and glossy samples of the early 2000s on the aforementioned single, or like the straight trap beat bumping hard on Golden Child. And this leads to a very varied sound, but not so varied that anything feels out of place. Even at it's most unconventional, the album manages to hit home runs. Taking an astounding feature from the always eccentric Zelooperz, and switching up on a dime into a super groovy flip of Candy Shop that gets your whole body rocking.

And speaking of, let's not forget Tony Seltzer, the second player in this two man game. A frequent collaborator with Wiki for years, Tony creates the perfect pockets and vibe to carry the limitless energy Wiki brings. Numb is these two at their absolute peak, the somber piano riff leads in, then it flips over into one of the hardest beats I've heard in a minute. And on top of that Wiki isn't just spitting some nonsense, this is one of his most introspective tracks of all. He isn't just capping about the money he makes or the countless women he gets like most of the rappers out there. He's shockingly real about the financial and mental struggles he's faced as an artist trying to find his own way, which is something that pretty much every up and coming artist can relate to. And that honesty comes off much more genuine than someone just going on on about whatever fake chains and jewels they've got or flights they have to catch.

On this tape you can tell that for these two, everything is effortless. With Tony as the leadoff man and Wik batting cleanup, it's run after run after run scored. There's not a miss on this album.

Final verdict: dig this - As someone who has been trying for years to get the word out on Wiki, this album is just another in a ever growing list of excellent releases that really ain't getting the love they deserve. Matter of fact, go check out Faith Is A Rock (with Alchemist and MIKE), Cold Cuts (with Subjxct 5), Half God (with Navy Blue), and No Mountains In Manhattan too. My guy deserves all the recognition.
